As part of the Expedition Series tools designed for professional explorers Extrema have designed the Extrema Ratio RAO II Expeditions Folding knife. The Expedition Series of knives maintain the reliability and quality found in Extrema Ratio tactical tools used by military special forces and law enforcement. The RAO II Expeditions model offers compactness without compromising functionality, boasting a desert-coloured handle and sheath consistent with the Expedition Series. Its features include a BÖHLER N690 (58HRC) blade steel with MIL-C-13924 burnishing and a superficial stone washed finishing (DARK STONE finishing), along with ergonomic handle scales and a drop point blade.

Inspired by the RAO model employed by the Italian 185° Rgt. Ricognizione e Acquisizione Obiettivi “FOLGORE” (185° RAO), this folding knife embodies strength with an extremely sturdy locking mechanism that can handle heavy duties and is further secured by a safety feature, essentially transforming it into a fixed blade when engaged. The knife's locking mechanism is reinforced by a threaded steel pin in the guard section of the Anticorodal aluminum handle, ensuring resilience during heavy use. The sheath, in desert Cordura, is an essential component of the carry system, allowing for both closed and open blade carry with safety measures in place. Equipped with a firesteel for lighting fires and a diamond sharpener, the sheath's MOLLE fixing system enables versatile carrying options on tactical vests and generic belts across all models in the Expeditions Series, including the RAO II Expeditions.
